iced tea anyone?

Nothing tastes better on a hot summer day than a cold beverage, like iced tea! Here's a quick and easy recipe on how to make your own iced tea.

1. Boil 2 cups of water

2. Steep two bags of black tea into the water

3. Wait for the tea to cool, then pour your tea into a glass

4. Add a teaspoon of flavored syrup (I used passion fruit and raspberry syrup!)

5. Add a few ice cubes into your tea

During the summer, I often see pictures of celebrities wearing long, black dresses, and I marvel at how comfortable and chic they look. Today, I decided that I just had to try out this trend once and for all.

The key is to keep accessories to a minimum. I wore a black headband and 3 beaded necklaces that I looped around twice to give them a “layered” look.

Black and blue is one of the biggest trends this season, and it was a little chilly outside, so I chose to wear my black dress with a blue sweater.

Today was finally a sunny day! I wanted to celebrate by wearing a bright, yellow tunic from j.crew.

I love how gray, a neutral color, intensifies the yellow and makes it pop!

The detailing on the dress reminds me of a watercolor painting.

Because I was wearing such a bright color, I chose to accessorize by wearing a small, black hair clip, which added just the right amount of sparkle to my look.

These past few days have been cold and rainy -- and today was no exception. The weather inspired me to put this dark, nautical outfit together. Luckily, this afternoon was cloudy, so I was able to take a nice walk to the library.

I love the ruffled detailing on the cardigan!

rainy day indulgences

When I was a little kid, I would like to drink a cup of hot cocoa and watch a movie while listening to the patter of rain on the windowsill. Today, I'm having the same ritual, except that my hot cocoa is replaced by a warm soy latte.

I first made an espresso using a nespresso machine.

 I then used a milk frother to make hot, foamed soy milk to pour into my espresso.

And a nothing goes better with coffee than cookies!

Paisley prints remind me of summer, and this chiffon top is no exception! I love pairing bold prints with dark shorts or denim, so that they stand out against a clean palette.

During the summertime, I love wearing bright colors, but today, I was in the mood for muted tones.

Muted tones were big on the red carpet this year, especially at the SAG awards. I wanted to translate this look into a casual outfit for everyday errands or brunch with friends.

Simple accessories in a neutral tone, such as a pearl bracelet, can add a subtle touch of elegance to your look!
